marble box

Marble box is part of the first Muller Van Severen exhibition back in 2011. This object combines a simple shape with the complex and expressive surface of marble. In this very item the aesthetics of the families Muller and Van Severen really merge. Fien Muller comes from a family of antiquarians and grew up in a home packed with seventeenth century paintings and things alike. Hannes Van Severen grew up in a family were minimalism set the tone. Every box has a different pattern and thus a different atmosphere. Together with other marble objects such as rack + marble, this box caused a renewed love for marble in the design world. This object remains part of the vanguard.
